5th February Meeting Report

A different evening today. We took the opportunity of a slight lull in competitions, to view the work of an eminent photographer, David Yarrow. Mostly in monochrome, his images of elephants, wolves, lions etc, were grainy and contrasty and really caught the viewer's attention. He also combined working with glamorous human models with animal models. A brilliant, different evening, generating much discussion. The club has been given a signed copy of one of David’s books, which will be used as a raffle prize at our presentation evening in April.

We also watched a video championing the use of the back button on our cameras, for more accurate focussing. Several cameras were brought in on the evening, and the button experimented with.
