23rd January Meeting Report

No competition this week, but a viewing of 55 prints from the WCPF Members Exhibition.

This is a selection of high scoring prints, including the winners, from last years Members Exhibition. These travel around the whole of the South West region, so that each club can see the standard attained and hopefully enter this years exhibition themselves.

There were 55 prints covering, open colour, open mono and natural history.

Each club can choose how they prefer to view.
As a club we view on a knock out system. 6 images shown at a time, a short discussion then perhaps 2 obvious ones eliminated and the other voted on. The one with most votes going forward to the next round.

As a result we selected a lovely mono print of a family of Ostrich as the winner, with a very atmospheric image of a grounded Lancaster Bomber as runner up.

Judging all classes against each other makes for difficult choices, but in the end the one we chose had also had a gold medal from the WCPF, so we weren't far out in our choices.

Members reminded that this Friday, 25th, we have a sunrise Foray to Mounts Bay, followed by a breakfast at the Godolphin Arms, then maybe more photos around the Marazion Marsh and Newlyn areas.

Next week is a skills evening; which skills are yet to be decided.
