26th September Meeting Report

This evening a meeting of 2 very different halves.
Firstly the initial Print evening. 1 image per member.
At this early time of the season entries are traditionally low. We hope the numbers pick up as members return from holidays and the season progresses

Girl in the Yellow Dress for John W

Untitled for Johnny B
Redshank for Adrian L
Giant Swallowtail Butterfly by Jane P
Red Footed Booby Preening by Penry A
Summer Ramble by Stewart P
Decaying Woodland by Sue H

Well done to all.

After coffee and raffle, Jeremy gave a short demonstration on how to resize images for projection, something which we still get wrong on occasions and makes the Competition secretaries job more time consuming.

Finally a totally different demonstration from John EJ. He had been trawling charity shops for small and unusual picture/photo frames. He then took 1 of his images which showed numerous beach hut doors, and extracted small portions of that 1 image and matched them to the frames. A fascinating exercise and some really good and fun matches. I wonder how many of us are now thinking of doing something similar just for our own amusement.

Brian informed us that the club had been given a grant from WREN ( wind farm) to stage our 70th Anniversary exhibition next year. Thanks to Brian for the hard work put in to obtain this.

Steph is to send out a survey to members for a decision on where to go for the Autumn Foray on Oct 19th. Also she would like suggestions for the Spring Foray.

Jane then showed a thankyou note she had had from the Hospice. The profit from our presentation dinner last year had gone to the Hospice.

Next week, pdi 2. This time 2 images allowed per member.
